Fund Manager Financial Responsibilities
Fund managers have a fiduciary obligation to administer University funds with consistent care and to account for them in a full and transparent manner. To meet this obligation, it is important that fund managers maintain financial internal controls. Internal controls promote efficient and effective operations of an organization by safeguarding resources from waste, fraud, and inefficiency; ensure accuracy and reliability in accounting and operating data; and enforce compliance with institutional policies and applicable laws and regulations. Please review this document to gain a better understanding of the fund manager’s role.
Research Projects Administration
Johns Hopkins University Research Administration (JHURA) identifies opportunities and partnerships, facilitates the submission of sponsored project proposals on behalf of Johns Hopkins, negotiates and executes agreements, provides coordinated advice and guidance regarding applicable rules and regulations, and assists faculty, staff, and students in proper stewardship of the University’s sponsored projects.
Office of the Provost – Limited Submissions
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (VPR) coordinates all limited submission activities on behalf of the University, and makes every effort to provide a current list of open opportunities to its faculty.

VPR lists internal funding opportunities aimed at helping faculty meet their funding needs.
